These are devices I actually use, not just own—quietly reliable, genuinely effective, and worth the time they take. I’ve previously reviewed the Foreo Bear 2, which I still think is excellent, but the ZIIP Halo feels like the next level up, which is why it deserves its own dedicated review. I’ll talk about LED separately because both tools warrant their own airtime.
You’ve likely seen this little device everywhere by now, so let’s start with what many brands avoid: beauty devices are never essential. Your face won’t collapse without them. You can absolutely age well without ever touching microcurrent. SPF, a good cleanser, moisturiser and a consistent routine will always be the true non-negotiables. But the ZIIP Halo is one of those rare non-essentials that’s genuinely worthwhile—if you have the budget and the inclination.
And for full transparency, the ZIIP Halo was initially sent to me by the team. But a freebie doesn’t buy my affection. If it had been underwhelming, it would have quietly joined the gadgets I never mention again. Instead, the results are precisely why I’m writing this. It’s earned its spot here—not because it arrived via PR, but because it’s proved itself where it matters: on my actual face.

How to Use the ZIIP HALO
The key difference with the ZIIP is how simple the whole thing is. There are no complex systems, no fiddly attachments, no 20-step sequences. It’s plug-in, gel-on, follow the app, and go!
I use mine as part of my morning routine as that just works better for me time wise, 3-5 times a week and can be done in 4–12 minutes! Some days I do a quick 4 minute programme, other days I will do a longer routine if I feel I need to focus on a certain area. It really is very adaptable and designed for real people with real schedules. Of course you don't have to follow the app if you don't want to, because when you become more familiar with device, you might just want to do your own routine but the app-led routines are so clear and genuinely helpful!

My Results So Far ... my jawline told the truth
It maybe worth addressing how the ZIIP Halo differs from another microcurrent device like the Foreo Bear 2, because they’re often lumped into the same category and I do like that device. The Foreo is very much a lifting and sculpting device — you lift the muscle and you feel that firmer, more forceful microcurrent working to visibly hoist everything up. The ZIIP, is far more delicate, designed to glide lightly and smoothly— where the Foreo aims to grab and lift, the ZIIP feels like it’s coaxing the skin into better behaviour. Both have their place, but the Halo for me, has given me a more lasting result and I prefer the more gentle approach.

Is the ZIIP HALO Truly Worth the Investment?
The biggest endorsement I can give any beauty device is the fact I’m still using it months later. Not for a sponsorship, or content but simply because I can see it working so I want to use it.
So I say, absolutely yes—and I don’t say that lightly. It’s not essential, it won’t replace your skincare, and it certainly won’t sculpt your face into someone else’s. Salons will always deliver professional-level results—but for me, having something at home that gets me close to that, on my own schedule and without the faff of appointments, feels like the next best thing and that’s where devices like this really come into their own. It’s not a magic wand—you need to use it regularly—but the difference I have seen in my skin’s firmness and look is undeniable. It truly works.
I should acknowledge the obvious downsides. First, the price. At £379/ $399, it’s a big investment—but if you’re someone who invests in their skin, it may well balance out over time. Then there’s the conductive gel. It’s non-negotiable, and it has to be ZIIP’s own, which does add to the running costs. And of course, there’s the commitment factor; treatments take five to fifteen minutes, and the results only come if you actually stick with it.
**Should you be wanting to invest, ZIIP have kindly given me an exclusive discount code because I absolutely stand by this device being worth it. I hope I can help, by saving you some money (see details end of post).
