When I heard the news that Chanel was launching a brand new clean beauty line, I felt giddy just by the sight of the packaging. I have been obsessed by all things Chanel ever since I was a young girl and you know you are an adult when you finally own your own bottle of Chanel No5.

Chanel is joining Team Clean Beauty with its latest collection, No1 de Chanel. It features 9 sustainable products across skincare, makeup and fragrance. The key ingredient to the entire collection is Red Camellia, a gorgeous flower that symbolizes love and passion but most importantly contains protocatechuic acid, an antioxidant found to slow the onset of biological ageing, reducing dryness and dullness. 80% of the collection is made from recycled glass, some of the lids are sourced from recycled materials and all the ink is organic ... still with that Chanel luxury that we all know and love.

No1 de Chanel Collection

I would love to own the full collection here but I knew from the get-go, that make-up and fragrance would be my go-to zone. As much as I love and need to try more of the Chanel skincare line, I have a lot of skincare that I need to use in my cupboard. Hence this haul/review will focus on the makeup and fragrance.

My Purchases

The packaging from start to finish is still as luxurious as ever, so the recycled part has not affected their usual luxe level at all. I purchased the L'Eau Rouge Fragrance, the Revitalising Foundation and two shades of the Lip and Cheek Balms. I was kindly given samples of the skincare to try also.

Spoiler alert; I am utterly besotted. This collection is so me, and maybe you too! ......

No1 de Chanel Collection Rouge Fragrance Mist

1. N°1 De Chanel L’eau Rouge Fragrance Mist 100ml | linked here

A revitalizing fragrance mist infused with Red Camellia Extract and Camellia Water to refresh and invigorate leaving skin hydrated and radiant. This is very light yet long-wearing on the skin. The scent has the perfect mix of citrus, floral and musk notes. For me, this is that perfect everyday, spring-summer fragrance that you just wear effortlessly. The scent you choose for when you just want something light yet luxurious to make you feel good.

It really is very unique scent from Chanel and extremely light compared to say something like No5 which is known for being quite strong. I did read that this was deemed to overtake No5 but I think there is room for both of them as they are complete opposites of another in my opinion and I do adore them both. L'Eau Rouge would be my everyday go-to whereas No5 would be more of an outing/occasion scent. As for longevity, being a fragrance mist it's obviously not going to be as intense as an EDP, but still has a really good wear time on the skin.

If you love something that's quite floral and citrusy and very easy to wear, then you will love this one. (FYI my husband actually bought this for me as a git after I had purchased the makeup; he knew I couldn't stop thinking about it after I sprayed it at the counter!).

Can we also just appreciate how stunning the bottle is. I love the CC branding on the lid and the red glass just makes this feel extra special. Will definitely make your dressing table look fancy!

No1 de Chanel collection Revitalising Foundation

2. N°1 De Chanel Revitalizing Foundation 30ml | linked here

This magic formula contains Red Camellia Oil and moisturizing ingredients that soften the skin and help protect against environmental aggressors. The skin appears plumper and glowy, making this more than just your average foundation. This for me is the perfect everyday foundation. It's buildable, luminous and just gives that very natural youthful glow. It comes in 20 shades and I always find shade B20 is my perfect match in all Chanel foundations; I don't know how they do it, but they do. It's my most perfect match out of all foundations.

It has the Chanel light scent and beautiful texture that I feel all their foundations have. In terms of coverage, it is light to give you natural healthy-looking skin, so you will still be able to see your skin through this. I would say this gives a satin finish that feels super hydrating and almost invisible on the skin. Compared to other Chanel foundations I would say this is heavier than the Les Beiges Tinted Moisturiser yet slightly lighter than Healthy Glow but with the same radiant finish.

I think is ideal for mature skins and dry skins too. Being light, it doesn't settle into fine lines but at the same time delivers a nice amount of coverage that is dewy and youthful-looking. I think the Camellia oil as well as the other great skin ingredients certainly help to hydrate the skin when you wear this. The shade range is also very friendly to many skin tones/undertones too.

This is a foundation you reach for when you want effortless, natural-looking skin with a youthful glow that is lightweight and is long-lasting; perfect for warmer months and with all those skincare benefits too. It is a tad more expensive than some of the other Chanel foundations (£55/€70) and I would say it just all depends on your budget. If this is more than you would like to spend then definitely opt for the Healthy Glow or Tinted Moisturiser but I for one think this is a luxury worth the try if foundations are maybe where you like to invest your money. But truthfully, I love all my Chanel bases equally.

Now onto the lip + cheeks, the product that surprised me the most and the one I love the most from the collection which resulted in me purchasing another shade instantly!

No1 de Chanel collection Lip and Cheek Balm

3. N°1 De Chanel Lip And Cheek Balm | linked here

The multi-use lip and cheek balms are infused with the same Red Camellia oil and come in 6 universal shades. It was love at first dip for me as these creamy, butter-soft formulas, melt into the skin, adding the perfect touch of tint that can be built up easily. Super moisturizing with the most stunning dewy finish that is not sticky or tacky but just wonderful. I think your skin type will determine how these set on your skin but on my normal/dry skin they are a dream. They set perfectly and don't move around at all.

You can either use your fingers or a brush to apply them but I prefer a brush as I feel I have more control over the product. The Rodial Buffing brush is just amazing at applying them to the cheeks! I was so impressed by the amount of pigmentation that these balms have. They look like a full lipstick on the lip not just a balm, but you can apply as little or as much as you like to increase the intensity.

I think they got the 6 shades spot-on because I think most of us could wear all 6. The most popular sell-out shade is Healthy Pink which is what I picked up but then jump straight online and ordered Wake-up Pink which is the perfect bright coral. I feel these will be staples during the spring/summer. I love the CC logo on top of the lid and even though they are a pot, meaning you need to dip into them, they still feel so luxurious and so beautiful in a glass jar.

So to no surprise, they are selling fast which is why I highly recommend that you try them when you see in stock!! I know that I will in time, own all 6 shades; I am just in love with them.

Going on these products alone, I can only imagine how lovely the skincare is. For me, these 3 products are such incredible new additions to the Chanel line and ones that I shall without a doubt repurchase. No1 De Chanel is a permanent line (hurrah!) as it has taken years to create and I think it was worth the wait.
