I am sure you know I love Hourglass as I have professed this many times on my blog and it's due to new launches such as this one, that keep them at a top spot for me. Here we are talking about all things Concealer; a product I am sure we all use, even those males who get a sneaky breakout yet won't admit to using! Concealer can truly be a lifesaver, yet finding a great one is the challenge. I love concealer and think you either fall into the category of a) always ready to try a new one or b) stick to what I know works. Even though testing products is what I do, I will always gravitate to my holy grail concealers on a daily basis because once the pr gift runs out, it is then up to me to purchase so it needs to impress.
Hourglass has added a few new products to their very popular Vanish line and one of them is the Vanish Airbrush Concealer which got my attention right away as the bags (or sacks) under my eyes right now, are a real test for it.

Hourglass powders are such a favourite of mine because their formulas are so fine and non-drying that they make your skin glow, as pictured here above, proof that good products and lighting can airbrush you to look like you are, even though this is not! The glow is not OTT but natural and flattering and this is why I knew it would be great to have concealers to really help compliment the line even more.
I have two types of concealers in my stocks; those that I use for eyes and those that I use especially for the face. Right now I use the Nars Creamy Concealer under my eyes and the Matte version for my complexion where needed as I need a product that is dewy under my eyes. I also use By Terry and the Charlotte Tilbury Secret Concealer but I have to say, I hate that sponge tip and hope they change that because as it wears it looks so messy and just isn't nice, though I like the product.

The shade range is superb with 22 shades available and I have three of the fair options and I have to say, trying to decipher my shade online was actually really easy and my guess was totally accurate so I feel this is a product you can feel confident ordering online.

First off I have to address how the packaging is just stunning. The engraved H on the angled lid with a frosted, weighted glass tube is just so sleek and sophisticated with no liquid mess in sight. The applicator is the perfect shape to get into the contours of the face like it was designed to and not tug at the skin in any way. This is one classy concealer.

The one thing I love about the fairer shades here is that all three work for me, just in different ways. The shade that works best for my undereye is *Creme as the peachy/pink tone on my neutral skin helps to brighten my undereye and this is my perfect shade for both eyes and my face. Cotton is warmer but works really well on areas of my face. Birch is very light yet will be great as a highlighter/brightener when needed! I love how versatile they are and just adapt to your skin. (I have compared it below to two other popular brands which may help you when choosing if you are a similar skin tone to me!).

I have to say there aren't many new concealers that live fully up to the hype, yet this one does, every part of it. The creamy, light texture is a dream to work with and buffs into my skin like silk. The semi-matte finish is my ideal as it leaves just a hint of dewiness while setting down to a more natural healthy look. It doesn't crease nor settle into my lines (win!) and you can set it however you usually would if you wish but I didn't even feel that I needed to. The pigment was enough to cover my darkness and balanced the redness on my eyelids instantly and evened out the tone of my skin all over. It feels super hydrating and a little does go far as this is my kind of 'fullish coverage' that doesn't feel you have anything on and takes seconds to blend. Compared to a well-known rival (Tarte shape tape) which I find takes forever to blend and is more like a full-on foundation than a concealer, yet does give a flawless result but I just think it isn't the easiest to work with ... where are this one is, plus it gives a much nicer, natural result. It wears super well and I didn't have to touch it all day long. This will most definitely be a win for brides on their wedding day! I did hear a few reports from others of it being drying but I haven't found this to be case at all. I think using a good eye cream prior is key should you suffer with this issue and making sure you aren't using anything that could interfere with it working.
The formula wins hands down and has fast become part of my top ever favourites (being now Hourglass, Nars and ByTerry) of which I shall be re-purchasing when this one runs out. I cannot recommend this one enough to all ages and all skins, it ticks all the boxes without a doubt. It is obviously a luxury spend but spend your money wisely on your skincare and complexion products because they will give you the results and benefits.

It was, in fact, Hourglass who got me into 'using the brushes that work alongside the product' as I was always a bit un-suckered into the extra spend .. until I tried their powder brush that worked with their powders and now I am sold as that brush is probably my most used one ever and it still feels and looks brand new (ft here in the main images!). This is why I knew this brush was going to be good and it's not just good, it's brilliant. The brush itself is lovely and weighty so you have such great control while using it and the half-moon angle really is a perfect shape and size to get under the eyes and into facial contours and blends the concealer in just a few strokes. It literally only took a couple sweeps under my eyes and across my eyelids to make a difference. This brush is magic! Let this be a treat even if you just need a new brush and not concealer then treat yourself to this one as it really is such a great tool to help give you the most airbrushed finish. I just want all their brushes!
