My addiction to Too Faced Cosmetics just got bigger and although I am late to the party with this one, I have jumped on the Too Faced bandwagon and purchased this much talked about Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette. What two loves could be any greater to any woman than chocolate and make-up? Genius marketing and I for one like it.
I convinced myself (for the millionth time) that I didn't need anymore eyeshadow palettes right now but each time I passed this one in Sephora the temptation grew and I finally succumbed to its charms. In my defence, this is not just another 'neutrals palette' but a safe transition from neutrals to colour for spring/summer and not only are the shades incredible but the eyeshadows themselves actually smell of chocolate. Yes, you read that correctly folks, it smells of chocolate!

So without further a do, lets talk about this delicious sweet treat ...

The palette is a magnetised tin containing 16 matte and shimmer eyeshadows made with real cocoa powder. Cocoa has a lot of antioxidant properties to help protect, condition and heal the skin and apparently when inhaled it also helps to increase memory and brain power. Sold.

Inside there is a good sized mirror and a plastic sleeve showing you the shadow names which are all appropriately named after a sweet treat, so don't be surprised if you find yourself reaching for something sugary and naughty! As soon as you open this up and inhale the sweet chocolate scent you can't help but keep smelling it .... its sooooo good!!

There is nice mix of neutrals ranging from browns to pinks and even into more burgundy and purple shades. The larger sized shadows can be used for highlighting, hence why you get double the amount seeing as they shall be used more which is a really good idea and wish more palettes did this.

Let's talk eyeshadows ....

The colour selection is really varied and perfect for creating many different looks from just one palette that would work on many different skin tones. The texture of the matte/satin shadows are buttery soft and apply really easily to the eye. The shimmers have lots of pigmentation to them and show up well even after one application. The two glitter shades do take some layering up to really get the full impact so bear that in mind when using those shades. One very small downside is that some of the shades are a bit chalky with fallout so just be sure to tap your brush off before applying to the eye, then all is fine. I do think the quality of this palette is really good and I love the old fashioned feel it has to it with it's vintage style tones.

This is a perfect makeup palette for absolutely anyone, especially those who like neutral tones but want to add some 'safe' variety into their everyday make-up look and go from day to night with ease. If you hate chocolate and the smell of cocoa then this may not be the palette for you but other than that, there is nothing not to love about it. I for one am happy to have this in my collection, if not just to smell it!
