A Happy 2015 Everyone! It's the start of a brand new blogging year and I plan to upload more regular posts for you this year now that I can focus more of my time on my writing and discovering what beauty treats are in store for 2015. With regards to new blog post topics, I simply write passionately about what I love and what I would highly recommend to anyone of my friends; basically a sneak peek at what I go shopping for (and usually more items  than what I went out to buy!). Just think of me as your little 'fairy lash-mother', helping you honestly with your beauty needs!

To start this new year off with a bang I have finally popped my Charlotte Tilbury cherry with the purchase of this beautiful luxury eyeshadow palette named 'The Uptown Girl'. Any make-up obsessive shall know that Charlotte Tilbury's makeup line has been hugely successful since its UK launch in September 2013 and with such well thought out make-up products, I can see why its been selling fast.

In case you didn't know, Charlotte Tilbury is a world famous make-up artist who has worked in the beauty and fashion industry for over 20 years. She has this amazing way of making anyone understand make-up in a very simple, yet effective manor. Her products reflect her teaching methods by making make-up application fun and easy for any woman to look her absolute best and feel her absolute best too. I am yet to study the whole collection in the flesh as stores are currently only UK and US based but I did manage to pick up this eyeshadow palette and its so impressive. All CT make-up has been divided into 'profiles' so 'The Uptown Girl' consists of a full collection of products that helps to achieve this created look. It's been based around the glossy polished looks of Olivia Palermo, Naomi Campbell and Grace Kelly - some serious style icons that I am happy to follow!

The Uptown Girl: Your look is made up daily to groomed, glossy, gorgeous perfection. Never one to skip a pedicure, you take your beauty regime extremely seriously and would rarely be seen out of the house without an eyelash out of place. Yep.....those who know me well shall agree this kind of sums me up!

The packaging of all CT products consists of this gorgeous burgundy and rose gold finish (swoon) which is stunning especially being the rose gold addict that I am - it truly was love at first sight. The shiny eyeshadow palette is super lightweight, slim, small but still with a good sized mirror, perfectly portable and very classy and elegant looking (of course!).

The four shades in the palette are not named but numbered as the colour coding indicates how you apply your eyeshadow quad, for a little guidance and help.

1 = Prime (top left: apply all over the eye lid)
2 = Enhance (top right: use on the outer corners of the eye and underneath)
3 = Smoke (bottom right: blend into the socket)
4 = Pop (bottom left: apply to the centre of the eyelid)

Of course you can use this palette however you want to as its shades are very versatile in creating any day or night look as well as the Uptown Girl look created by Charlotte herself.

I have used an eyeshadow primer underneath in the above picture to intensify the eye shadows and highly recommend that you do use one as this also locks the shadows into place. I would never not use an eyeshadow primer and regularly use Urban Decay primer potion and Laura Mercier eye basics.

Being my first purchase from the Charlotte Tilbury Collection, I can safely say that it has totally lived up to my expectations as I hoped it would. I love this palette and the whole concept behind it. The eyeshadows are lovely and soft, really buildable and super easy to blend without fall out, just make sure you use a primer underneath them to get the most impact out of these stunning shades. This is the perfect palette for creating a soft, grey, gold smoky eye on any skin tone and with the addition of flawless skin and a peachy lip, this is one beautiful look!

It's really clear that a working make-up artist has designed this collection as it is so easy to use, especially as most people find making up their eyes the hardest part of their make-up routine and this palette makes it possible to create a catwalk look at home yourself, whether you are a professional or not.

Charlotte Tilbury Make-up, The Uptown Girl Luxury Palette, £38/$52 here and available in-store and online at Selfridges and Net-a-porter.

I feel my next trip to London shall certainly involve adding to my Charlotte Tilbury Collection!
