Let's talk Gel. Gel nail polish was a gift from the gods for us nail addicts because the longer our mani/pedi lasts, the better. I always opt for gel on my nails if I am going away anywhere because then I know that my nails shall be looking good at all times and is just be one less thing to worry about. I know I am not alone here.

I love to go to a salon if I have the time as it is simply a more pampering experience but for the times when I can't then I do them myself at home and for the past few years I have used the Sensationail Gel Home Kit from Boots and this has been my life saver. Sensationail in my opinion are one of the best brands for DIY gel nails and I have always highly recommended them as it's the only kit that I personally use and bought myself a few years back now. I have been using my kit a lot this summer as my manicure always lasts a good 10 days when I do. I can't say enough great things about them.

A few month's back, Boots got in touch with me after having received some sample sets of a NEW Version of the Gel Kit and asked if I would like to test one out as both Boots and Sensational are a fan of my blog (literally made my day!) and I knew this would be a great  product to give my honest feedback on, as always. Plus I spend hours in Boots when I am back in the UK, one of my guilty pleasures!

Sensationail Express Gel Nails
Meet the newest innovation in gel nails, Sensational Express One Step Gel Polish, and one step is exactly all this kit involves. It shall blow your mind. This all in one gel formula is revolutionary - you simply brush on, cure and your done in 5 minutes. Crazy I know?

The kit comes with one colour polish but there are over 20 additional shades to choose from including glitters, neutrals, darks and bright opaques.

So what is the difference between the Express and the Original kit?? Let's compare.

• The ORIGINAL SensatioNail Gel Kit (£49.99) (here!) including base coat, top coat, nail cleanser, nail primer etc
Lasts up to 2 weeks, 100 nail shades, 90 sec cure, 20 minute application

• The NEW SensatioNail Express Gel Kit (£34.99) - (buy here!) (includes: LED Lamp with USB lead and main adapter, Gel Colour Polish 10ml). All rolled into one magic formula.
Lasts up to 7 to 10 days, 24 nail shades, 60 sec cure, 5 min application.

Sensationail Express Gel Nails
This magical gel polish is chip resistant, high shine and should last a good week on your nails. There is no base coat, no top coat, just a 30 second cure of the colour with no dry time whatsoever. You basically just skip straight to the colour, literally just 'painting your nails'.

I have tried, tested and yes, no gimmick, it works

This time the LED lamp is USB as well as coming with a mains adapter which is genius as I was able to plug it into my desktop and do my nails at my desk, making it super convenient. In two easy steps you are literally done ...

1) Prep your nails by buffing and filing using no hand creams or oils.
2) Apply a thin coat of polish and cure for 20 seconds in the Led lamp. Repeat with 1/2 more coats depending on the depth of colour. That is it!

You can still use the other products from the original kit like the nail primer, cleanser, top coat, base coat etc with your new polish should you want to make it last even longer!!

The LED Lamp in this new kit is much better in my opinion as you can just sit it over your fingers and toes as opposed to putting your nails 'into it'. It is much more portable and professional. The nail polishes are also a bigger size (10ml) seeing as this formula is all in one.

Above, my current pedicure situation after 2 WEEKS post my holiday in IBIZA dancing, partying and sunbathing and it still looks as good as new and so shiny. You have to agree that is impressive.

Gel on toes generally does last a lot longer compared to gel on the fingernails but with this machine I can go 1-2 weeks with my manicure still in tact and I have very short nails which generally means they don't last as long but Sensational have been a game, or should I say nail changer for me

Sensationail Express Gel Nails
A BIG (perfectly manicured) THUMBS UP! Absolutely love this kit!

THE COMPARISON. The main difference here is that the New Express version should make your mani last 7-10 days, still very impressive for a 5 minute application, where as the Original kit should last around 2 weeks. The Express kit is perfect for those who don't have time to do a full on gel mani/pedi but still want long lasting hence Express is the fastest way to get long lasting gel nails!

If you love gel polish but you struggle for time or were put off by the multi-steps of the other kit then this a great version for you.

✔️Cost wise this is a really affordable way to get your nails looking professional as the Express Gel Starter Kits are just £34.99 each with each polish (£10 each) giving you up to 25 applications so compared to a salon, it's a big saving if you can do it yourself. This is a little cheaper than the Original Starter Kit (£49.99) which has gone down in price since I bought mine.

I will personally still use both kits, because I have both, depending on what time I have available as I know they both work so well. The Original Kit really does give me the longest wear out of the two but the Express kit is great for when I have less time and don't need my nails to last quite as long, but still last. A must have to own in my opinion!
Sensationail Express Gel Nails
If you are looking for the fastest and easiest way to do your own gel nails that really look professionally done then I highly recommend choosing Sensationail, [buy here!] and which ever kit you decide upon, it shall be a nail changer as it is the only kit that I choose for myself.

Have you tried Sensationail? Fancy trying it?
